Mr Karun Gera has been associated with Lokmat since 2014 as President - Sales looking after the group's advertising business. Karun comes in with over 20 years of experience in Sales, Marketing and General Management. Karun is a Mechanical Engineer and a MBA. He started his professional career with L&T in 1994 in areas of direct sales, marketing and application engineering solutions for the Automobile and Power sector. He then moved to Wipro Consumer Care and gained experience in FMCG sales and distributor management operations in markets like Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, HP and J&K handling brands like Santoor, Wipro Shikakai and Sunflower Vanaspati, etc. In 2000, he joined Mattel Toys, a 100% subsidiary of Mattel USA and grew with the organisation, performing through various roles of Sales Director, Commercial Director and finally Country Head India and SAARC markets. Karun was instrumental in growing and building brands like Barbie, Fisher Price, Scrabble and Hot Wheels during his stint with Mattel and establishing a local connect and market leadership status for the brands in the Indian Market.
